Google Fi is rolling out support for AI billing summaries, but Google, as usual, says that you shouldn’t rely on AI that can make mistakes.
Rolling out in what seems to be a server-side update, the Google Fi app is showing summaries generated by AI regarding your upcoming monthly bill. The brief summaries appear on the “Home” tab and show a small paragraph summarizing what to expect on your next bill.
Directly under the summary, there’s a message that says “AI responses may include mistakes.”

On a support page, Google briefly describes how AI billing summaries work in the Fi app, and also explicitly warns users not to “solely rely” on the AI summary:
You can find the AI billing summary in the Home tab of the Google Fi app or website. This feature:
- Helps you quickly understand why your bill is higher or lower.
- Explains changes in your current bill compared to the previous month.
- Is only available for 10 days after the bill is generated.
Tip: Do not solely rely on the AI billing summary because this feature can give incorrect information. For complete and accurate details, refer to your detailed billing statement.
Most AI products disclose that AI responses can make mistakes, as generative AI, as good and useful as it can be, is still basically impossible to trust.
This doesn’t seem to be widely available yet, but Google’s support page makes it seem like it will be rolling out soon.
