Oura is looking to build on its titanium collection with a new set of Ring 4 Ceramic models. The new versions will come in brighter colors, bringing the same health monitoring tech for $499.
The Oura Ring 4 has gained a ton of popularity as an alternative option to smartwatches and other wearables. Without a screen and a large footprint, it offers a preferable experience for a portion of users who want monitoring without a large or visually loud device.
Oura announced that it’s launching a new selection of Ring 4 models in a new material – ceramic. The new rings come in four different colorways, including Midnight, Petal, Tide, and Cloud. Ring 4 Ceramic opts for the non-metallic material with a few key advantages over the traditional smart ring design.
Ceramic, for one, offers natural color richness, as opposed to titanium, which needs to be treated. Oura says the ceramic color options won’t fade over time. The material is also scratch-resistant and will be the hardest material to beat up between the two. Titanium will still be involved, just on the inward-facing portion for the most comfort and performance.
Oura says it will include a cleaning pad with each Ring 4 Ceramic, since the material tends to naturally pick up colors from softer materials. They’re easy enough to wipe off, though.

The Ring 4 Ceramic will come in the same size options as the original variant, though it will be slightly thicker by 0.5mm around the outside, totaling 3.5mm.
Oura is also making it possible to pair multiple rings to one account, for those who want more than one model.
The Oura Ring 4 series launched a year ago. The company improved health tracking with a sensor array that tracks 18 different signal pathways and finds the best one within the finger. That change brought on a 30% improvement in SpO2 accuracy and a 120% increase in signal quality over the Ring 3.
We reviewed the Ring 4 earlier in the year, and it’s remained a solid option because of the backend. Oura’s app is phenomenal, though it costs users $6/month to use. The data is offered in a way that still beats out Samsung and other proprietary fitness apps.
As for accessories, the company is also making a new charging case available at $99. It has an internal battery that can charge the metallic or ceramic Oura Ring 4 five times per charge. Theoretically, that’s a month of usage or more per charge in this case. It’s likely to be a good option for those who tend to travel or need something to ensure the battery is topped off. Unlike Samsung’s Galaxy Ring, the battery case will not be a part of the standard Ring 4 packaging.
Alongside the new Ring 4 version, Oura is making a couple of other provisions available for users. One is a highly requested ring recycling program. As far as we’re aware, it won’t work like a standard trade-in system for a discount on a new ring. Instead, it’s a way…
