Following all the Gemini for Home announcements at the start of this month, Google is introducing new faces for the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen).
There are four new faces today:
Seasonal art: Designed by artist Mathilde Loubes, this face turns “your thermostat’s stunning, borderless display into a piece of art.” There are “12 unique, animated illustrations of flowers and fruits that update” at the start of each month alongside the current temperature. When you’re closer, the artwork shrinks and you get additional details.

Minimal: This is an “understated, elegant option” that reflects your thermostat’s current mode. For example, there’s a snowflake for Cooling or green leaf for Eco.

Nest classic: A “throwback to the original thermostat.” This “modernized take” uses the familiar orange and blue backgrounds to provide an “immediate view of the desired temperature and current operating conditions.”

Temp controller: For “quick, at-a-glance adjustments” with the same information shown regardless of distance.
This joins the existing Farsight options: Indoor temps, Digital clock, Analog clock, and Weather. You can set a new face directly from the Thermostat or through the Google Home app:
On your thermostat:
- Press the thermostat ring to open the Quick View screen.
- Turn the ring to Settings and press to select.
- Turn the ring to Farsight and press to select.
- Turn the ring to scroll through available Farsight faces.
- Press the screen when your preferred face is highlighted.
