Samsung has just launched a new wireless keyboard for Galaxy devices, with the “Smart Keyboard” including a dedicated button for launching AI services.

The new Samsung Smart Keyboard is a standalone Bluetooth keyboard designed for Galaxy devices, whether that’s a smartphone, tablet, or a Galaxy Book laptop. The QWERTY keyboard with its tenkeyless design looks pretty sleek, with its marquee feature perhaps being the inclusion of a dedicated AI key.

The “AI Short Key” appears next to the arrow keys and, according to Samsung, can be used to launch Gemini or Bixby on a Galaxy phone or Tab, while launching Copilot on a Galaxy Book.

Stay in control with the dedicated AI Short Key —your shortcut to smart assistance. Launch Google Gemini or Bixby on your Galaxy phone or Tab, or call up Copilot when connected to your Galaxy Book —all with a single press. Wherever you are.

Samsung started including this AI keyboard on Galaxy Tab keyboard covers with the Galaxy Tab S10 series last year.

The Samsung Smart Keyboard further includes up to 3 paired Bluetooth devices with a key used to swap between the active devices. There are also three dedicated app buttons which Samsung says are customizable. It’s unclear how that works, but examples from Samsung include Notes, Calendar, and PenUP. Another dedicated key is used to launch DeX.

This isn’t a rechargeable keyboard, though, with Samsung instead opting to use CR2032 coin cell batteries to power the Smart Keyboard. Samsung says this provides “long-lasting battery life,” but there’s no specific stat mentioned. A battery is included, and based on the inclusion of an “eject pin,” it also seems the battery requires a pin to be replaced.

At $109, the Samsung Smart Keyboard is far from cheap, but would you try it?
