The OnePlus 15’s global launch earlier this month came with the asterisk that it wouldn’t go on sale in the US right away, but the needed FCC approval appears to have just come through.

After debuting in China, OnePlus 15 actually saw a global debut ahead of schedule. While we were disappointed in some aspects of the device in our review, there’s no denying the epic battery life is an attractive selling point, so it was a bit tough to see the device delayed in the US market. The reason for that came down to the FCC, which needs to grant approval to any new smartphone – and basically any other device with radios – that’s sold in the US.

Due to the lengthy government shutdown that lasted from October 1 through November 12, the OnePlus 15 couldn’t be granted that approval in time for its launch. As such, the device has not been available to US customers, but that may soon change.

The FCC has just granted approval to a OnePlus device carrying the model number CPH2749. That falls in line with other regional model numbers for OnePlus 15 variants, and suggests that the FCC has given OnePlus the thumbs-up that was needed to start selling this device in the States. The approval was first spotted by u/Electrical-Plum-751 on Reddit.

The device is not yet available for purchase, likely in part due to this week’s Thanksgiving holiday and other factors. But with this hurdle cleared, it’s very likely we’ll see news on the launch in the next few days.
