“Creator18 is expanding the advertising reach of Network18 and will help the company venture into news-adjacent categories, including culture, commerce, and fashion,” reads Network18’s second-quarter (Q2 FY2025-26) earnings release. Launched in June 2025, Creator18 is an influencer marketing vertical among Network18’s other businesses. The company claims to have over 1,000 content creators on its platform on an “exclusive basis.”
The company also admitted that its digital news publication vertical, News18, is generating news using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to deliver “AI-powered daily news roundup podcasts” and “AI-generated Rapid Reads.”
Media Companies and Influencers
Network18 isn’t the only media company that has started focusing on the influencer business. For instance, Arnab Goswami-run Republic TV launched the “Positive Influencer Program” in April 2025 to counter negativity. “Positive Influencers are those who have the courage to challenge negative fads,” reads their website, which appears to be still open for applications.
In June 2025, Walmart-owned e-commerce platform Flipkart — which also recently bought a majority stake in digital publication PinkVilla — launched “Creator Cities,” a content creation program for influencers and others, with studios for shoots in Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Gurgaon. The initiative is supported by 300 “experts” and 200 creators. The company also reported a rise in live and video commerce, with daily live hours increasing eightfold and user engagement rising 17 times.
Similarly, RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group (RPSG)-owned MensXP and iDiva, culture and lifestyle-based online publications, also offer influencer marketing services through the third-party media buying company, The Third Ant.
MoneyControl as Fintech
Network18-owned digital publication Moneycontrol claims that its premium subscription has over 1 million paid subscribers. In addition to the existing Pro plan, the company also launched Moneycontrol Super Pro to offer real-time market-related data. Referring to this, the company said that it “is driving the company’s push into subscription-based products.”
Additionally, Moneycontrol’s fintech sub-vertical was launched in collaboration with Mumbai-based private bank HDFC. This was first revealed during the recently held Global Fintech Festival 2025 in Mumbai. “Consumers will be able to get curated personal loan offers from HDFC directly through the Moneycontrol platform. This is another step in the direction of Moneycontrol establishing itself as India’s largest and most trusted financial destination,” reads their statement.
Presence on YouTube
Network18 claims to be the largest digital news network on YouTube, with over three times the views of its nearest (unnamed) competitor. While highlighting the online publication Firstpost’s strength on YouTube, the company, which also owns a plethora of TV channels…
