We are happy to announce that the Digital Citizen Summit (DCS) is back, and we are happy to formally invite you to the 7th edition of the Summit, which will take place on 14th and 15th November 2025 at T-Hub, Hyderabad, in collaboration with the Government of Telangana and MediaNama as the Media Partner.
This year’s theme, “People & Platforms: Let’s Talk Accountability,” addresses the urgent need to critically examine platform power, digital governance, and the collective responsibility to reclaim digital infrastructures as public goods. The Summit will explore how agency, accountability, innovation, and rights-based frameworks can shape equitable digital futures, particularly in the Global South.
Building on our previous editions and the ongoing work within the ARISE (Accountability and Responsibility in South’s Ecosystems) network, DCS 2025 aims to deepen dialogues on digital rights, data governance, platform accountability, and participatory technology models.
The Summit will feature multiple session formats, including panel discussions, roundtables, workshops, lightning talks, and tech demos, across five thematic areas:
The 2025 edition will feature four interconnected convenings:
- 7th Digital Citizen Summit (DCS): Exploring the theme “People & Platforms: Let’s Talk Accountability,” this convening will address the urgent need to reimagine platform power, digital governance, and collective responsibility.
- 9th Community Network Xchange (CNX): Showcasing innovations in community-owned connectivity, this track provides a platform for sharing knowledge, partnerships, and solutions to expand access across the Asia-Pacific.
- Digital Artisans of India Awards (DAOI): Celebrating artisans who are leveraging digital tools to preserve culture and strengthen livelihoods, this segment highlights the intersection of craft, technology, and social impact.
- Just AI Awards: Honouring initiatives that advance ethical, inclusive, and rights-based approaches to Artificial Intelligence, this award recognises leadership and innovation in responsible AI practices.
