Eternal (formerly Zomato) founder Deepinder Goyal is reportedly considering launching a wearable device company called Temple, according to an Inc42 report.
Goyal’s latest initiative focuses on brain blood-flow monitoring devices that appear to align with the “Gravity Ageing Hypothesis,” something the 42-year-old wrote about on X (formerly Twitter) on November 15.
Goyal’s biological research initiative, Continue Research, is conducting all scientific work related to this hypothesis. However, the Temple website at the time of writing simply states “Coming Soon,” along with the tagline: “The future of health starts where no one’s looking. Inside your brain.”
In simple terms, the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis suggests that gravity’s lifelong pull on blood circulation inside the brain may contribute significantly to the human ageing process.
What Is the Buzz Around Temple and the Gravity Ageing Hypothesis?
The buzz around Temple began last week when Goyal posted photos from a Children’s Day-themed Feeding India event on LinkedIn on November 14.
The last picture in the post, where Goyal is seen standing with Blinkit Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Albinder Dhindsa, went viral because the Eternal founder appeared to be wearing a white patch near his temple.
Responding to a user on LinkedIn, Goyal explained that the white patch was an “experimental device to calculate Brain Flow accurately, real-time, and continuously.”
Notably, Continue Research’s website carries a detailed explanation of the hypothesis. It suggests that when a person stands or sits, gravity pulls blood away from the brain, reducing cerebral blood flow (CBF) by up to 17%. Over decades, this may weaken two key brain regions, the hypothalamus and brainstem, which regulate hormones, metabolism, inflammation, and autonomic functions. Their decline, the hypothesis suggests, could trigger the cascading effects of ageing.
It is also important to note that in October 2025, Goyal announced a $25 million fund to support researchers studying fundamental questions about human biology and ageing at Continue Research.
Elsewhere, Goyal revealed on LinkedIn that he has been using the Temple device for over a year, adding that it could become a critical health tool globally.
“Been using it for a year, and I’ve been feeling that this could shape into an important wearable the world needs. Brain Flow is already well accepted as a biomarker for aging, longevity, as well as cognition. So, this device is useful and relevant even if the Gravity Aging Hypothesis turns out to be…
