The latest version of Google Play services (25.46) is rolling out today, and the release notes preview new media and Find Hub features. As always, it takes some time for listed features to actually make their way to users.
Up first is a new Device Connectivity capability:
[Phone] With this new feature, you’ll get one-tap transfer device suggestion chips in the media object and suggested devices section in the media output switcher.
We believe this is referencing what Google previewed in January of 2023: “Through notifications on your devices, you’ll be able to tap to start listening to a podcast in the car, continue on your phone and headphones and finish on your TV at home. As you move your physical location, you’ll see these media notifications on your phone or other devices asking if you’d like to transfer the audio over to a nearby device.”
Existing vs. preview (2023)

Google said it was “developing a way for your audio content to move with you throughout your day,” with YouTube Music and Spotify touted as partners. This was previewed alongside Spotify Connect support in the Android media switcher that launched in 2024.
The description we have today sounds slightly different from the original notification in that users have to go to the media switcher. This is presumably getting closer to launch, and would join Tap to Cast between the Pixel Tablet and phones.
Meanwhile, the Security & Privacy section of the Play services release notes has:
[Phone] Support the new Find Hub item location sharing feature by providing a service to manage the encryption and aggregation of item locations shared by URL.
That could be part of the ability to “share your Bluetooth tag’s location with some of your favorite airlines early next year.” This was previewed at I/O 2025 in May to make it easier to find lost luggage.
The link-based sharing available in Find Hub today for trackers/tags is meant just for individuals. If Google’s approach matches the Apple AirTag-airline implementation, you will create a link on your device and then share it with the airline.
