After kicking off the rollout a few weeks ago, Google says the Gemini for Home replacement of Assistant on smart speakers is now available within a day of opting in.

Google started the Gemini for Home rollout in late October, with wider access as of last week. In a blog post, Google says that “millions of households” now have access to Gemini for Home via smart speakers, and that the rollout is speeding up.

As of December 10, US users can opt in to the Gemini for Home early access program and “most” will receive an invite “within 24 hours.”

Starting today not only are we going to start sending out invitations more rapidly, but also anyone in the US who hasn’t already received an invitation to early access can sign up and receive an invitation within 24 hours. We’re also enabling third party speaker devices as well. It’s possible that you missed your very own invitation, so if you’re not sure, check your Home settings in the Google Home app if you’d like to get going with Gemini for Home.

Also of note, Google is enabling third-party speakers in this rollout, as we reported on earlier this week.

You can sign up for Gemini for Home via the Google Home app by tapping your profile picture, accessing “Home Settings,” and then opting in through the “Early Access” section.

Google says the following devices are compatible:

  • Google Nest Hub (2nd gen)
  • Google Nest Audio
  • Google Nest Mini (2nd gen)
  • Google Nest Hub Max
  • Google Nest Wifi point
  • Google Nest Hub (1st gen)
  • Google Home Max
  • Google Home Mini (1st gen)
  • Google Home
  • Third-party speakers
