In addition to their ADT partnership (and investment), Google is working with AT&T on its new Connected Life security system.

AT&T Connected Life is a “security and smart home solution” that includes Google Nest hardware, Google Home intelligence, AT&T’s wireless and home internet, and professional monitoring by Abode.

AT&T’s Starter kit includes a Nest Doorbell, security hub, two door/window sensors, and interior motion sensor for $399. This is aimed at DIY set-up as pictured above.

The Advanced kit at $699 gets you a Nest Doorbell, security hub, four door/window sensors, two interior motion sensors, key fob, Nest Cam (outdoor or indoor, battery), and wall-mounted keypad.

Then there’s the monthly plan with the $10.99 Essential providing 30-day of event video history for Nest Cams, Google Home’s existing Intelligent alerts, AT&T cellular backup (with battery-powered devices if the power goes out), and real-time camera access in the “AT&T Connected Life” app. The carrier says “no annual contracts required.”

Going to the $21.99 per month Professional plan adds 24/7 Abode professional monitoring, as well as:

  • Police: The center dispatches authorities (police or fire) to your home if an unverified alarm is activated.
  • Medical: In the case of medical events, the monitoring center dispatches local emergency medical services (EMS), ambulance, or local EMTs.
  • Eligibility for insurance discounts: Professional monitoring may qualify you for savings.
