Waze appears to be testing out support for showing traffic lights along your route in navigation, a feature already available in Google Maps.

As spotted by GeekTime, Waze is showing traffic lights while navigating (or in cruise mode) for some users. This appears to be in early testing, as we couldn’t find any other public reports of the feature being live. Waze has shown some traffic lights over the years, but mainly in regard to speed cameras attached to lights.

Like with Google Maps, traffic lights in Waze appear along your selected navigation route, meaning you won’t see them at intersections that you aren’t approaching. That’s probably for the best as far as clutter is concerned, as Waze can occasionally be a little overwhelming in terms of how many incident icons it might show in a certain area.

It’s too early to tell how widely Waze will roll this feature out, but it’s certainly nice to see some early progress on it.
