Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey has developed a decentralised, peer-to-peer (P2P) messaging application, Bitchat, that functions with only the help of Bluetooth to send encrypted messages directly to nearby devices, as per a CNBC report.

On Sunday, Dorsey announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the application’s beta version was live on Apple’s TestFlight, and an entire whitepaper was available on GitHub.
