The state government has no role to play in allowing two-wheelers to register as bike taxis, stated Uber to the Karnataka High Court (HC) on July 11. The ride-hailing app, alongside Ola and Rapido, was appealing against a previous judgement of the court that banned the aggregation of bike taxis in the state until the Karnataka government notified relevant guidelines under Motor Vehicles Act (MVA), 1988.
