Jana Sena Member arrested over comments on Telangana CM: Telangana (TG) police have arrested Jana Sena Party member Korra Chandar Lal ‘for deliberately making inappropriate remarks against the Honorable CM on social media’.

Have wisdom of restraint, TG police warns: “When making excessive comments on social media, do not forget the wisdom of restraint. If you do so, the law will do its work,” TG police cautioned while announcing the arrest.

What happened? “Mother promise! Revanth Reddy, we will sacrifice you. You are messing with Jana Sena,” now-arrested Chandar Lal reportedly warned TG CM Revanth Reddy, according to TeluguScribe, an X-only media publication.

Reporting is a privacy violation, argues TG Police: In another instance, Telangana’s Cyberabad Police sent a takedown notice to X regarding Journalist Revathi’s post on X questioning TG police. The notice said the post in question “violated Indian Law.” However, X’s notice to Revathi doesn’t specify which particular law that her post has violated. After receiving the transparency notice from X, Revathi noted that she posted at around 8:35 pm and she received the notice at 1:40 pm. She further stated the alleged reasons behind the takedown notice.

“Apparently! The son of the man who was slapped by the police raised a complaint for publishing the video without consent. FYI – this video is not a private video. In less than four hours of me posting, the family filed a complaint & police realised how harmful it is, decided to take action & wrote to X for taking it down. Wow! The Speed! Wow!!” she wrote.

“Also- if we have to take consent, 99 percent of news cannot be published,” she noted.

What post do the TG police want to take down? “Is it okay to slap a citizen??? Hyderabad police during a drunk and drive check were seen slapping a man because he wasn’t being supportive. I think he was just way too drunk to follow instructions…!! Yes, driving under the influence is 100 percent wrong, so is the overreach of policemen. Courts decide punishment not police,” said Revathi while posting a video where TG traffic police are seen slapping a middle-aged man during a breathalyzer test on the road.
