Sony is the latest brand taking notes from Google Pixel with its latest Xperia 10 VII adopting a camera bar, but that’s not all that’s notable about this new midrange release.

Launching in Japan, Europe, and the UK, the Sony Xperia 10 VII is a midrange release that will cost £399 / €449. On the spec sheet, it’s a relatively standard affair with a couple of key selling points.

A compact 6.1-inch OLED display at FHD+ and 120Hz displays Android 15 with four years of Android updates and six years of security patches. A Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 runs the show paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage and, in a nice twist, there’s a microSD card slot. There’s also a 5,000 mAh battery that Sony claims will last two days.

In another rare appearance, the Xperia 10 VII has front-facing stereo speakers. Also, it retains a headphone jack.

But what’s particularly notable is the new design. While the boxy shape of prior Xperia phones remains, the camera is now in a bar very similar to Google Pixel devices. In particular, the camera bar on Pixel 9 and Pixel 10. Sony’s is color-matched to the rest of the body, though, which comes in white, charcoal, and turquoise color options.

The Sony Xperia 10 VII is available for pre-order starting today, and fully launches on September 19.
