According to a new report, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has seen major success in Europe, but with other brands, including Google Pixel, “hot on Samsung’s heels.”
If it weren’t already clear, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a smash hit. As it turns out, when you actually try to compete with the rest of the market, consumers respond.
Now, Counterpoint Research is sharing additional figures regarding the Galaxy Z Fold 7’s success, this time focused on the foldable’s success in Western Europe. Apparently, Fold 7 sold around 250,000 units in just its first four weeks on the market, 2.5x growth over the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and beating out Samsung’s most popular Fold to date, the Galaxy Z Fold 4, by around 70%.
The report explains:
In its first four weeks of sales, the Galaxy Z Fold7 sold over a quarter of a million units in Western Europe, more than double that of its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold6, and almost 70% more than the previous best-selling Samsung foldable, the Galaxy Z Fold4. It is also more than any book-type or clamshell foldable smartphone from any other OEM so far in the region.
Counterpoint adds that “competition is fierce, and HONOR and Google are hot on Samsung’s heels with impressive device launches of their own in August.” No new numbers were shared, but it was previously reported that Google Pixel and Honor were the fastest-growing smartphone brands in Europe. It was also reported that Google, with just the Pixel Fold and Pixel 9 Pro Fold released to date, had captured 8% of the overall foldable market in Europe as of June 2025.
