Right on time for Amazon’s Prime Day, the company has released an app update that removes every hurdle from buying more with a new “add to delivery” button.
For some time, Amazon has offered the option to delay shipping dates on orders that combine several items. The choice is meant to make packaging easier and more efficient, stuffing multiple items into one box instead of several over a period of days.
In an update that might be a bit jarring for an app that kept the same design for half a decade, Amazon has made it easier to add new items to existing deliveries. If an order is already scheduled, users can tap a new “+ Delivery” button in the new Amazon app on Android.
Doing so will seamlessly add the item to your scheduled order. The user will be charged using the same payment method used for the previously ordered item, and the item will be shipped to the same address.

The add to delivery feature will likely only be available for those in areas where Amazon’s one-day or two-day delivery is available.
The new UI seems to be an attempt to make ordering items even less cumbersome, with next to no friction to simply add an item to an in-progress order. There is no confirmation page, and zero hassle in order to include another item to the box that’s already being prepared.
If users do happen to hit “add to delivery” without meaning to, an undo button appears in the status card. It’s not clear how long that option will be available after a one-tap order.
