Through recent updates, Android Auto seems to be removing its “GameSnacks” collection of games that were available to play on the car’s display.

GameSnacks” is a collection of HTML5-based games that Google has built for car displays. The idea was born out of Google’s Area120, and was added to Android Auto back in 2021.

But, suddenly, it seems to be disappearing.

Last month, users started noticing that GameSnacks were no longer visible on the Android Auto app launcher, but still visible via the launcher settings. But that’s only been the case in beta releases, with Android Auto 15.2 being the first beta where GameSnacks was missing (or at least the first time we noticed the removal). Prior to this, users were reporting issues where an alert regarding only being able to use GameSnacks when parked was shown in error frequently.

So far, stable Android Auto updates have yet to remove the feature, but more users are noticing the change as threads have been popping up on Google’s support forums. In those cases, it’s unclear what Android Auto version is installed, so it’s hard to know if it’s limited to the beta track or not.

Either way, it does seem that Google is doing away with GameSnacks on Android Auto, but we’ll have to wait and see if this change makes its way to the stable track, as new Android Auto versions are rolling out to stable users now.
