Google is following up on a successful Nano Banana release with Gemini 3.0, which a reported leak suggests could be in late October.

An image of Google’s internal milestone calendar has been floating around on social media. The posted image shows a timeline of target points Google intends to hit with dates to follow. One of the listed milestones in the leak in question is an announcement, which appears to be the official Gemini 3.0 unveiling.

The schedule lists plenty of milestones before it, including internal and bug testing for the new model. The announcement on October 22 doesn’t look to be a matter of question, but the internal note system indicates that there’s a chance Gemini 3.0 availability may not launch with the announcement.

The posted image doesn’t inspire a lot of confidence, and it should be taken with quite a grain of salt. The image seemed to appear out of nowhere without a clear digital trail, so it’d be very difficult to say if this is a real image or a leak that holds water – ironic, isn’t it? This sort of information is generally kept tight to the chest, so seeing something like this is surprising.

Google does indeed intend to release Gemini 3.0 at some point, internal communications leak or not. Gemini 2.5 Pro launched in March and has taken the place of Google’s most advanced AI model to date. The model family was launched with “thinking” capability, and 2.5 Pro can perform complex post-training.

As far as what Gemini 3.0 will bring, there’s very little to go on. If the leak is accurate, it could be announced as soon as October 22. If it’s not, we’re still expecting to see the new model announced sometime soon.
