Despite witnessing a degrowth in its Q2 profits, travel-focused SaaS company RateGain is betting that the acquisition of Sojern and continued investments in go-to-market strategy and AI-led product development will boost revenue in the ongoing fiscal year.
The company has raised its FY26 revenue guidance to 55–60% year-on-year (YoY) over FY25, Chairman and Managing Director Bhanu Chopra said during the September quarter earnings call.
“At the beginning of FY24, I had laid out our medium-term vision of doubling revenue within three years, from approximately Rs 1,000 crore to Rs 2,000 crore by FY27. We are well ahead of that goal and on track to close FY26 at a revenue run rate of Rs 2,700 crore. Our priorities are clear: seamless Sojern integration, disciplined investments in go-to-market (GTM) strategy, and product innovation,” Chopra said.
Founded in 2007, Sojern offers an AI-based hospitality and travel marketing platform that enables customer engagement. The company has a presence in several countries, including the US, the UK, Ireland, the UAE, Singapore, France, and Mexico.
During Q2FY26, RateGain acquired Sojern in a $250 million deal. The transaction was completed in November. RateGain said it will include Sojern’s business performance in its financial reporting from the next quarter.
“The addition of Sojern will further accelerate our earnings per share (EPS). The successful integration of Sojern continues to be our immediate priority,” said Rohan Mittal, Chief Financial Officer at RateGain.
RateGain’s AI-Led Product Stack
During Q2FY26, RateGain integrated the Model Context Protocol into its booking engine. This enables conversational AI models such as ChatGPT or Claude to share real-time hotel rates and availability, allowing travellers to search and book through a single intelligent interaction.
Over the past few quarters, the company has accelerated its AI-first travel tech strategy and rolled out several products, including:
- UNO VIVA: The world’s first Central Reservation System (CRS)-integrated AI voice agent that helps hotels convert more bookings and reduce missed opportunities by automating phone reservations.
- Smart ARI: An AI-powered engine that eliminates junk updates to Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), preventing overbookings and rate parity issues while helping OTAs cut costs through faster, real-time updates.
- AirGain AI Digest: Provides airlines with real-time insights on route performance, demand trends, and anomalies, enabling faster, data-driven pricing decisions in a dynamic market.
“We’re building an AI-first platform for the travel industry. The acquisition of Sojern further enhances our ability to deliver value across marketing, distribution, and revenue optimization for our customers,” said Chopra in a Q2 investor presentation.
