Vodafone Idea Limited reported a steady performance in its Q2FY26 results, with revenue from operations rising to Rs 11,194.7 crore, marking a 2.4% year-on-year increase. The company’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) stood at Rs 4,685.1 crore, maintaining a margin of 41.9%. However, it continued to post a net loss of Rs 5,524.2 crore for the quarter, narrowing from Rs 7,175.9 crore in Q2FY25

Depreciation and amortisation expenses were Rs 5,567.5 crore, while net finance costs stood at Rs 4,682.5 crore. The company’s capital expenditure for the quarter amounted to Rs 1,750 crore, bringing the total for the first half of FY26 to Rs 4,200 crore. As of September 30, 2025, Vodafone Idea held a cash and bank balance of Rs 308 crore and reported bank debt of Rs 1,530 crore.

On the Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR) issue, the company said, “we welcome the Hon’ble Supreme Court’s judgement dated October 27, 2025 and November 3, 2025,” allowing the government to reconsider and reconcile additional AGR demands up to FY2016–17. It added that discussions with the Department of Telecommunications (DoT) are ongoing regarding next steps.

Operational Metrics of Vodafone

Vodafone Idea reported steady operational performance in Q2FY26, ending the quarter with 196.7 million subscribers, down slightly from 197.7 million in the previous quarter. Of these, 65% were 4G/5G users, with the high-speed subscriber base rising to 127.8 million from 125.9 million a year ago. The company’s average revenue per user (ARPU) increased to Rs 167 from Rs 156 in Q2FY25, while the customer ARPU (excluding M2M) climbed to Rs 180 from Rs 166 in the same quarter last year, reflecting an 8.7% year-on-year growth supported by tariff hikes and customer upgrades.

Data usage continued to expand, with total data traffic reaching 7,275 billion MB, compared to 5,992 billion MB in Q2FY25. The average data usage per 4G/5G subscriber surged to 18.9 GB per month, up from 15.8 GB a year earlier. Vodafone Idea’s 4G population coverage improved to 84.4%, while broadband sites rose to 5.27 lakh, an addition of more than 10,800 sites over the previous quarter. The total unique broadband tower count reached 1.91 lakh, and the company deployed over 13,000 Massive MIMO sites and 12,400 small cells to strengthen capacity.

Meanwhile, blended monthly churn stood at 4.3%, marginally lower than a year earlier, underscoring stable user retention as the company deepens its broadband footprint and continues its 5G rollout across 29 cities.
