At the time of writing this report, Telegram is accessible on Android devices across Airtel, Jio, Vodafone Idea, and BSNL networks. On Windows browsers, it is accessible via Airtel and Jio, but remains inaccessible on BSNL. However, there was a slight delay in restoring access, particularly on the Airtel and Vodafone Idea networks.

MediaNama tested Telegram’s network accessibility using the Open Observatory of Network Interference (OONI) at 11:07 AM on June 23, 2026. The results are as follows:

Pranesh Prakash, a technology researcher, pointed out that Telegram is “likely blocked” on the Vodafone Idea network while remaining accessible on the ACT network. He conducted this test at 11:25 AM.

Quick context: The Indian government blocked access to Telegram at network level and had it removed from app stores under Section 69A of the IT Act untill June 22, a day after NEET re-examination. Read more about it here.

What about app stores? At the time of writing, Telegram has been restored on the Google Play Store but is yet to be restored on the Apple App Store.

According to NDTV Profit, the Indian government is not extending the block, and Telegram is expected to “become available by today.”
