Ahead of an expected global launch in the coming weeks, OnePlus is launching its latest flagship device in China first, and it’s giving us a good idea on what to expect.
Design-wise, there’s very little in the way of surprises here — OnePlus had already given us plenty of teases showing off the OnePlus 15’s redesign, and that look carries on here. With flat edges and a new left-mounted camera bump, it’s a far cry from its predecessor. What’s more impressive, however, is what it’s managing to pack in under the hood.
While OnePlus is, as usual, relying on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for power and performance, the particularly impressive stat here is the 7,300mAh cell bundled inside. It’s tricky to say whether a battery that large will actually make it to the US and other global regions — it wouldn’t be the first time users in China got a much larger battery — but considering the multi-day performance of the OnePlus 13 and its significantly smaller 6,000mAh battery, I’m not sure it’ll matter much either way. This thing will get practically anyone through a day or two without breaking a sweat.

The rest of the specs sheet looks fairly familiar. OnePlus is using a triple 50MP camera array, including a new 3.5x optical zoom telephoto lens that delivers a minor increase over the 3x sensor in last year’s flagship. Without Hasselblad’s imaging engine, we’ll need to wait for units in-hand to see how it actually performs. The 6.78-inch FHD+ AMOLED display is actually a bit of a downgrade over last year’s model, though, both in terms of size and resolution. At 1,800 nits of peak brightness, though, it’s at least a bit brighter.
The OnePlus 15 is now available for pre-order through Oppo’s online storefront in China for CNY 4,899. That’s about $688, and a small price hike over the OnePlus 13 last year. Although there’s no global launch date for the OnePlus 15 just yet, it shouldn’t be too far off. The UK OnePlus website has already started to tease the device on its homepage with a simple “coming soon” sign-up process.
