Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Buds 4 Pro are likely due to be released next year, but early software leaks are revealing more details about the upcoming earbuds.
The folks over at Android Authority obtained an early One UI 8.5 build – the software update expected to debut with the Galaxy S26 – and have been finding tidbits about the Galaxy Buds 4 series within. This includes new gestures and graphics that indicated a redesign, but new images are giving us a much better look at the new design.
The images below show a new design for the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro that forgoes the “blade” design that debuted with Buds 3, instead using a flat, brushed metal finish with a grill at the top that likely covers a microphone. Leaker Max Jambor confirmed that the design is real.
Also found in the software was an animation showing a new feature on the case where you can press a button to trigger a ringer on your phone. This would allow the case to act as a way to find your phone, assuming it’s actually connected.
The animation also shows what seems to be a speaker cutout on the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro case, implying you’ll also be able to ring the case to find your earbuds using your phone, something that’s been appearing on earbuds from Apple and Google, among others.
Samsung’s schedule for launching new earbuds tends to vary, but the Galaxy Buds 3 series launched with 2024’s Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Flip 6 in July. Given all of these new tidbits popping up in One UI 8.5, though, it seems reasonable to expect this launch could take place a bit earlier, perhaps with the Galaxy S26 series early next year.
